At this two-day feminist research event, I will be presenting my paper titled "Reactionary Politics and Chinese Popular Feminism: Mai Lin as ‘The Most Repulsive Woman’ and the Dilemma of Disempowered Women".

This talk will be about Dr Shirley Yang’s career journey from the creative industry to the University of Leicester for her PhD. She will share her transition from being a creator of mediated gender roles to exploring mediated gender roles as a researcher.
